A quick way to estimate: one cubic yard is 27 cubic feet. If your debris would fill about 4 to 5 pickup truck loads, a 12-yard is usually enough. If you expect 8 loads or more, go with the 20-yard.

What can I put in the dumpster?
Most household junk, furniture, construction and renovation debris, and yard waste can go in. Hazardous materials, tires, batteries, electronics, appliances with refrigerant, and fuels cannot. Large amounts of concrete, brick or dirt need to be discussed first because of weight.See the full list
